GatherCastGo Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 4, 2026
GatherCastGo is designed with privacy in mind. The app allows people who are physically nearby to share photos and videos directly between their devices.
Information We Collect
GatherCastGo does not require you to create an account and does not require your name, email address, phone number, or other personal account information.
GatherCastGo does not operate a cloud service for storing your shared photos or videos.
Photos and Videos
Photos and videos selected for sharing are transferred directly between participating nearby devices during a GatherCastGo session. GatherCastGo does not upload your shared photos or videos to a GatherCastGo cloud server.
Received photos and videos remain on the receiving device and can be saved to the user's Photos library when the user chooses to do so.
Nearby Connections
GatherCastGo uses Wi-Fi peer-to-peer networking and local network discovery to find and communicate with nearby devices participating in a sharing session.
Transfers are encrypted and authenticated.
Camera
GatherCastGo requests access to the camera only when needed to scan a GatherCastGo session QR code. GatherCastGo does not use the camera for advertising or tracking.
Photo Library
GatherCastGo requests permission to save photos and videos to your Photos library when you choose to save received media.
Local Network
GatherCastGo requests Local Network permission so nearby devices can discover each other and securely transfer photos and videos.
Internet Connection
An Internet connection is not required for nearby GatherCastGo sharing. Devices communicate directly using nearby Wi-Fi connectivity.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
GatherCastGo does not use third-party advertising or tracking technologies.
GatherCastGo does not sell your personal information.
Temporary Files
GatherCastGo may temporarily store media files on the device while preparing, sending, or receiving a transfer. App-created temporary transfer files are removed when they are no longer needed. GatherCastGo does not delete photos or videos from your personal Photos library as part of this cleanup.
Children's Privacy
GatherCastGo does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or cloud service because GatherCastGo does not operate user accounts or a cloud storage service.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as GatherCastGo changes. The latest version will be available on this page.
